Microsoft unveils Surface Tablet to compete with iPad
Los Angeles – Finally, competition in tablet computer is not only dominated by Apple and Google. Now Microsoft has come down the mountain by launched surface tablet computer, Monday, June 18, 2012 the Los Angeles, United States.
Citing reports technology site Cnet, Tuesday, June 19, 2012, on the tablet touch screen 10.6 inches wide, the software company from Redmond is using magnesium coating material they call VaporMg.
Characteristic of this tablet is located on a 3-millimeter-thick magnetic fold that serves as a full touch screen keyboard. There is also a choice of cover thickness of 5 millimeters is equipped with a built-in track pad.
Surface tablets are available in two models. First to use the Windows RT operating system and another one using Windows 8.
RT is a Windows version of the “light” of Windows 8 because it does not have a complete desktop feature in Windows 8. In addition, RT running Windows ARM CPU.
On the other hand, Surface tablet with Windows 8 platform is named Surface Pro. The tablet will appear the next three months.

Premium models will adopt Intel i5 CPU, while the Windows model of RT carrying the Nvidia ARM. Tablet Surface has connectivity such as USB storage media port Micro SD Cards and HD Video.
For Windows models RT, Surface will be present with a capacity of 32GB and 64GB. While the premium models will have storage space of 64GB and 128GB.
Not yet known how the official price and launch a specific date that the latest tablet. Only, Ballmer said that Windows Tablet Surface with RT models, will be released simultaneously with the launch of the Windows operating system 8 (approximately October 2012).
