NYPD and CIA monitor the movements of American Muslim

New York – Muslims in America had to be extra alert. The reason is, all their movements were monitored by the police and the CIA. That was done mainly post-11 September 2001 terrorist attacks.
According to leaked data obtained by AP news agency on Thursday (1 / 9), a number of official New York Police Department (NYPD) and veteran CIA intelligence to design a program that aims to monitor the religious community. In fact, they also lowered the team to investigate wherever Muslims shopping, dining, and worship.
Program called “Demographics Unit” that had denied the NYPD. The unit’s daily report on all activities of Muslims around New York.
According to the document, the intelligence program was designed and managed by CIA officials. This cooperation is also considered deviated because there is no direct line between the local agent, namely the NYPD, with the (CIA). CIA prohibited involved in the affairs of the American domestic intelligence.
Still according to the documents, the undercover cops, or called “hunters”, went to bookstores, cafes, businesses, and Islamic clubs. The police also visited the businesses that employ minorities, such as business cab with driver citizens from Pakistan.
“They (police) were ordered to monitor an ongoing basis, monitor the bulletin boards at the mosque, and visited important points that may arise a problem,” explained the contents of the documents quoted by the AP on Thursday (1 / 9).
Demographics Unit task force has 16 members of the police and speaks five different languages. The unit was the only squad ‘spy’ Muslims who operate in America.
According to the data, NYPD ethnic monitoring in the area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. In operation, a team of hunters from the unit went to local businesses and talk with business owners to disclose their ethnicity.
They even disguised by playing cricket and hanging out at some cafes and clubs that are often visited by Muslims.
When the CIA to launch air strikes into Pakistan, the NYPD immediately fielded teams ‘hunters’ to the population of Pakistan to find out their anger to America.
Hunter team also made for indicators of terrorism and other criminal activities, including monitoring of religious schools and religious communities.
“The focus is that there are 28 countries in the list, which overall are Muslim countries,”
However, the presence of the team was denied the NYPD. NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said the department was just following orders and did not spy on the community. NYPD only comply with guidance provided by the FBI.
“We do not disguise or reduce the informant unless there is information that indicates the activity is not good,” said Browne.
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg also denied the NYPD never do the things alleged. However, Bloomberg yesterday ordered the mayor’s office to ask the NYPD.
