SUN VALLEY – Barack Obama has many supporters among Hollywood artists. One is a famous actor and director George Clooney. But Obama’s rival, Mitt Romney, has also gained support from one of the legendary Hollywood actor and director, Clint Eastwood.
Aging actor appeared in a fundraising event in Sun Valley, Idaho, Friday night or Saturday, August 4, 2012. Told reporters, Eastwood said he supported former Massachusetts governor because, “This country needs a boost.”
Director who won two Oscars for the film “Unforgiven” and “Million Dollar Baby” Romney told supporters that he believes the candidate of the Republican Party was able to fix the U.S. tax system. “I will choose Romney as president of the United States,” said the man was 82 years.
Romney painted on the face of joy to hear Eastwood’s statement. “He made my day more beautiful,” said Romney. Understandably, until February the famous actor in the movie “Dirty Harry” was refused to endorse either candidate. Besides Eastwood, Romney also received support from the actor and father of Angelina Jolie, Jon Voight, and musician Kid.
A campaign spokesman could not immediately say whether Eastwood would play an active role in the campaign.
About 325 people paid as much as $25,000 apiece to attend the event. Eastwood is a part-time resident of Sun Valley.
